How Much Are Annual Dues?
Annual dues are $140 and there is a $25 one time initiation charge. You can use this PayPal link to send due or bring a check to the next meeting.
What are pre-requisites for signing-up?
We are a chartered club of the Academy of Model Aeronautics (the AMA as we call it) — a community-based organization with 195,000 members. We’re pretty sure you will consider joining the Portland Barnstormers once you’ve visited us and had a few introductory training flights — you need to be the guest of a club member who is at the field with you (there’s a limit of three times as a guest) — and before you can join our club, you’ll need to become a FULL member of the AMA.
Are there field guidelines?
Before you join us, take a moment to read through our Field Guidelines we place great emphasis on flying safely and with due consideration of fellow members, and, of course, our neighbors who live near to our airfield. You should also have a look at the club Bylaws too.
And where is the application form?
When you’re ready to join us, you can download the membership application form. Please bring the completed form to the next monthly meeting of the club so that you can introduce yourself and pay the membership dues. Joining during the months of Nov'26-June'27 dues and initiation charge are $165 per adult. Joining during the months of July'27-Aug'27 dues are prorated to $132 for dues and initiation charge per adult. For the months of Sept'27-Oct'27 dues are prorated to $99.00 for dues and initiation charge. You can send payment in advance to the Treasurer via PayPal. You will be voted on and be able to join our club and we’ll tell you the combination number to unlock the padlock on the airfield gate. To make it easier, you can send dues via PayPal or by bringing a check.
